25th Anniversary RemARKable Blog Tour - Best of Brides & Babies

Welcome to the RemARKable 25 Years with Stampin' Up! Blog Tour!  This month the RemARKables are showcasing May's theme "Best of Brides & Babies." You may have arrived here from Jackie Bottomley's blog.  She creates some great projects every time. I'm never disappointed!

I have to admit, I am so happy that Blushing Bride is now one of the core colors.  I missed it a lot!  For today, I made two versions of the same card.  Here's the first one:

And here's the stepped up version:

The differences are that I used the new Beautifully Baroque textured impressions embossing folder, silver glimmer paper, and some dazzling details. It also has a different punched flower with pearls instead of rhinestones.

Next up on the RemARKable Blog Tour is Tamra Davis. You can click on the image below or go to to see what goodies she has created for you.

Mini Cherry Cheesecakes Recipe

This cheesecake recipe has been in our family ever since I can remember.  In talking with my mom, she said she copied the recipe from a TV talk show when I was a baby (think black and white!)  If you search the Internet for cherry cheesecake recipes, you'll find that many of them call for a vanilla wafer at the bottom or less commonly a graham cracker crust.  The cheesecakes my mom makes have no crust at all (Less carbs, right?). And in between the layer of cheesecake and cherries, there is a luscious layer of sweetened sour cream. I could find no recipe exactly like my mom's.

Cherry Cheesecakes
Makes about 30 standard muffin-sized cheesecakes

3 8-ounce packages of cream cheese
1 cup sugar
5 eggs
1T vanilla

1 pint sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 t vanilla

1 can cherry pie filling

In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, 5 eggs, and 1T vanilla using an electric mixer.  Fill muffin liners about half full with the cream cheese mixture and bake at 300 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until set (less time if using dark muffin tins).

After the cheesecakes have cooled, combine one pint of sour cream with 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla (my mom uses 1/4 cup sugar in hers).  Top each cheesecake with a heaping tablespoon of the sour cream mixture.  Top the sour cream mixture with about a few tablespoons of cherry pie filling.  (You may have some leftover pie filling.)  Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

This is a Google photo.  The real cheesecakes disappeared too quickly to take a photo.

About half-way through my New Catalog Extravaganza, I noticed my son getting the second platter of cheesecakes out of the fridge.  My first thought was, "He is going to eat them all!!!"  Then I looked down at the first platter and saw that it was empty; he was simply replenishing the supply for my guests.  What a good boy!

Catalog Extravaganza Make-n-Take

About two weeks ago I held my New Catalog Extravaganza.  Everyone who attended had a great time (or they faked it really well!).  The food was great, too.  My friend Sue Trout catered it and my mom baked mini cherry cheesecakes.  (See the recipe in tomorrow's post.)

Today I'm sharing the make-n-take that we created at this event.

That strip of Strawberry Slush didn't sit still for the photo.  She's crooked!
Nothing too fancy about this card except that I punched an extra Daffodil Delight Artisan Label, cut it in half, then layered it under the stamped image.  A few of my ladies commented that they forgot about employing that easy technique.  We all need reminders now and then!

I could imagine using this card layout for other types of cards.   A few of my customers needed a baby card, so they used the "cutest baby ever" stamp with a different designer series paper to make a really cute card.  I'll try to find a photo of that card soon.

Stamps: Label Love
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Big Shot, Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Artisan Label punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

The UPS man delivered the orders from my New Catalog Extravaganza event yesterday. I am knee-deep sorting the orders now!

RemARKable Stamp of the Month Blog Tour - Mosaic Madness!

Welcome to the RemARKable Stamp of the Month Blog Tour.  This month some of our most talented RemARKable teammates are showing you many different ways to use the Mosaic Madness stamp set from the newly released Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  This stamp set was available last month in a product bundle to select demonstrators for free (or at a discount for others) for their sales/recruiting achievements.  What a better time to show off this new set!

Clear Mount $18.95 (item 130249) Wood Mount $26.95 (item 130246)

I've created a few different cards for this blog hop.  Here's my first one:

This card uses the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper along with the Really Good Greetings stamp set paired with the Artisan punch.
Again, I used the Really Good Greetings set with this card.  I just can't get enough of Island Indigo!

This card uses the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper and several different punches.  I love how the Mosaic Punch layers with the Postage Punch.
