Clean and Simple Fall Cards

Since I'm in the business of making cards, you might assume that I have a stash of cards ready to send at a moment's notice.  Not so!  I needed a few cards to send to a few friends.  Here's what I came up with:

These cards were super-easy to create.  I stamped on a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla, then used a Soft Suede marker to draw a border.  I popped that piece with dimesionals on a Very Vanilla card base.

Wow!  I created two cards, photographed and uploaded them, and wrote this post all before noon.  I'm going to enter these cards in a clean and simple challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Now, I hope I don't miss the mail carrier!

Stamps: Gently Falling, Short & Sweet, Thoughts and Prayers
Paper: Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Soft Suede marker
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

Happy Stamping!

Susan

Addendum:  To hand draw the border I used a piece of cardboard from a dsp pack as seen in Dawn Olchefske's video.

Wow!! Doesn't that feel GREAT!! Two cards in less than 3 hours!! (he,he) ....and they get mailed!! We are going to be spoiled!! :C) The cards BTW are really pretty!! I love the color of the Fall leaves and just the simplicity of it!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Fall is also my favorite time of the year. We do not get much Fall in Texas. My sister is in WV. So I get seasonal reports!! :C) Thank you for participating in HSS!!! Amy :C)

Very nice! I love how you did the rectangle with the marker, the smallest detail can make a big impact. Great colors and fall cards! Thanks for playing along at Hand Stamped Sentiments!

Great card design! I am one of those card makers that can't get it together and actually send one out. It goes in waves for me....I'll send a bunch out then stop for a couple months. Guess I need to write one out tonight! :) I really like this card...so versatile, too. It's one of those that you can make a bunch of then add a greeting when you need it. Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!!

Susan, such a gorgeous CAS design! Now you have me wondering why I have never bought this stamp set. The colors pop off the white backgrond and I just love the hand-drawn border. Thanks for the inspiration (and the link) to give it a try. Thanks so much for joining us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments! :)
