Thank-You - Day 1 Creative Elements / SUO Challenge #49

I can never have enough thank-you cards.  So I recently completed several different styles to have on hand.  Most of them have a clean and simple style.  This sample is the first in a series that I'll be sharing with all of my readers.
I love the flourish from the Creative Elements stamp set.  The swirls from the sentiment coordinate with it, too.
Here's a close-up that really shows off the sparkle of the champagne mist shimmer paint.
I cased this card from Julie DiMatteo who got her inspiration from another demonstrator.   Basically, I used a different sentiment, different colors and added the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  I am entering this card into the SUO Challenge #49 for Thank You cards.  If you're up for a challenge, check out their blog!

Stamps: Creative Elements, Curly Cute
Paper: Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple
Ink: Raspberry Ripple
Accessories: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings embosslits die, Basic Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Champagne Mist shimmer paint

Happy Stamping!

Intensifying Hue Emboss Resist

I watched a video a few days ago on Stampin' Connection, the online community for Stampin' Up! demonstrators. It showed a new technique on France Martin's blog.  At the time I read France's blog post, she wasn't sure what to call her technique.  She used pinks and reds along with a different stamp set.  Here's my version:

Basically, you stamp your image on glossy white paper with versamark, then apply clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then cover post-it note strips over the glossy white paper and sponge color onto to it.  The only trick is to be sure to keep your post-it notes in place when sponging each color.  After you're finished sponging, then you remove all the post-it notes and wipe the excess ink from the versamark-ed image.

Stamps: Style Beautiful, Curly Cute
Paper: glossy white, Whisper White, Night of Navy
Ink: versamark, Bashful Blue, Marine Mist, Pacific Point, Night of Navy
Accessories: clear embossing powder, heat tool, stamp-a-ma-jig

After I made this card, I checked France's blog to find out if she decided on a name.  She chose "Creative Color Chip."  Lo and behold, France had created a card with blues.  So I'm off to make another version.  This time I'll do some greens.

...Several hours  and a sleep later:

Happy Stamping!

Ready for Class on Monday

Here's one of the cards that I designed for my upcoming stamp camp at the Oil City YWCA on Monday, September 27th.  This card uses the Greeting Card Kids, Curly Cute and Baroque Motifs stamp sets from Stampin' Up!  The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Night of Navy.  I also used the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch as well as the paper piercing tool and the mat pack.
